I've been using Kung-Log to post to my blog for a while, and a couple of weeks back I found out that it had received a major overhaul, as well as getting a new name -- ecto. Unfortunately it had also become shareware and I had been using it in 'trial' mode until this morning the nag screen refused to let me run the app without a registration key. At that point I decided that ecto is an app I couldn't do without and was at a price I am willing to pay for.Soon after I received my registration key and was happily my paid-for and fully functional copy of ecto (good karma all around), I found out around the blogosphere that a beta of ecto for Windows has been released! Don't get me wrong, I'm still very much a Mac head and still use my 3 year old 500Mhz Powerbook G4 as my primary work machine despite having a 2.0Ghz Pentium 4 on the same desk. Still, there are times I find myself on the PC and wishing I had a decent offline blogging client. Slightly off on a tangent, I also find another _very_ useful utility which I had been wishing for for a long time also. Spike is a cross-platform Rendezvous-enabled clipboard-sharing app. Now i can copy and paste urls and code snippets when I'm working on both machines simultaneously. _(tents fingers in Montgomery Burns' style)_ Excellent...

ecto, now on Windows
