Woo hoo.. remember the $220/week apartment I mentioned last time? I put in an application for it and it was approved. I just got my keys this morning and went in to check it out again and take some measurements.Unfortunately my cool loft bed will not fit. Well it will, but i'll only have something like 20cm clearance from the top of the bed to the ceiling, meaning I won't even be able to sit up on the bed. So I guess I'll have to sell it off and get a lower 'normal' bed-frame. Not that I'm complaining cos i have SO much space in this apartment. It's not a new and funky as the last few places I've stayed in Melbourne, but it's got it's merits and I'm going to have a good time filling it with stuff. Although it was a rather cold and damp day today, I managed to get myself a fridge and a washing machine already, from a second-hand whitegoods shop in Windsor. I was also scouting around for furniture, new or used in that area, but ended up taking a tram down to IKEA. Already earmarked a few things I would like to get, but I have to prioritize my purchases, especially since I haven't even bought my airfare back to Malaysia yet. I really should get that done _soon_. K-mart is also having some Mothers' Day sale on until tomorrow or Thursday with very good deals on microwaves, small appliances and tvs. I guess I'll just have to weigh out which things are 'essentials' and what I can leave out and get them later, maybe during the end-of-tax-year sale in June. I'm really excited about moving out to my own place (though still contemplating the 'share, or not to share' issue).
